Mini Session Winner from All Decked Out

hi everyone, sorry its taken me a bit to get this up. I wanted to get everyone's photos and edited out to them as soon as I could and then worry about the paperwork later on.  THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by my booth at All Decked Out. It was a great event, hosted by a super team of people and I was very happy to have been able to join in on the fun!   I met lots of great people and hope to see many of you again at some point.  It was a little squishy, and for sure not the same atmosphere that would regularly happen inside a calm quiet studio, but all the kids did really well!  Here are a few of the images from the day...AND I hope to be at the spring event   ALL SPRUNG OUT.  I will have two spring like backdrops, a couple of boys pastel spring coloured ties, a couple hats a couple of girls pettirompers and some hair pieces and an old fashioned suitcase to sit on!  Come visit me again, it will most likely be busier...I will change my pricing (JUST A BIT) and hope to support the food bank once again!  I've attached a couple samples of the backdrop's I'll most likely be bringing then, pink and grey for the little ladies, and blue and green for the little men. By next year's all Decked out I hope to be happily shooting away in my new studio...so I won't be attending then...but if you join my facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/pages/End-of-the-Road-Photography/107089975999039?ref=hl  you'll be sure to keep up with all the news about Christmas and Santa shoots indoors for next year! ....NOW DRUM ROLL PLEASE...the winner of the mini session that was randomly dranwn from all the entries (by my 4 year old) is ALETA N.  I've emailed her but haven't heard back yet..hopefully it's the right email..anyone who knows her? Tell her to check back with me!!  Thanks again for stopping by and hope you enjoyed the day!  Lisa

SUPER SYERRAH IS 3!!

Miss Syerrah is 3!!

Miss muffet came into the world 4 weeks early...but at least she made it that far.  A few trips to the hospital to calm things down or it would have been even earlier. Tiny but tough, she never went into the NICU, within 2 days she was diagnosed with severe GERD and went home at 4 days old, under 5 lbs as soon as she could pass her carseat test, which she failed several times.  From then until about 7 months old she ONLY went into the car for doctors or hospital trips, otherwise she would scream, throw up and choke, pull over, pull her out of the seat, make sure she was breathing. About 100-150 times  a day she would throw up. She lost her voice from the acid burning her vocal cords, and the constant (and I mean 12-14 hours a day!)  she didn't gain weight, was on supplements, had to nurse every 90 minutes round the clock to keep the milk coating her throat.... 5 combinations of drugs later...an adult dose of Nexium 3 times a day and 4 doses of domperidone a day, and we finally at 9 months had it semi under control. She was so allergic to dairy, I couldn't even have butter or chocolate in my diet. Those of you who know me, know that giving up chocolate for 2 full years of nursing was a BIG sacrifice!!  At the minus percentile until we weaned her off all her medications at 20 months.... she finally started growing, and hasn't stopped.  She talked early, potty trained at 21 months, and has grown to the 75% for height and the 20th for weight. Worse things in life than being tall and thin.  LOL!  She's still allergic to dairy, but not deathly so...and when I finally stopped nursing her I ate so much chocolate, I was sick of it!!
She's now 3 years old and an amazingly FUNNY, kind, witty, smartass (yes my fault) Sassy, (ya mine too) and bright little lady who lights up my life on a daily basis.  She is my little super hero, she was a little fighter for sure!!  So today, we made her into SUPER SYERRAH....one day late, it rained yesterday!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL PRINCESS!!

Christmas Card Samples

so...I know its ONLY October but I have been working on designing new Chrstmas cards since July. It has taken me a LONG time.....Most of the designs are new for this year because a large number of my clients are returning to me every year and want new choices, I've left a few of the favorites in there. Some I purchased, some I designed myself, hopefully none are available to you with any other local photographer since I want to offer you something extra for being such awesome clients.  I have all sizes,  4x6 5x7 4x8 5x5 and a few double sided 5x7 and a couple of bi and tri fold 5x5 and 5x7 ones.  The one sided cards can be printed like a photograph at a regular place, the double sided and folded cards need to be printed either through my professional printer or though your own professional printer.  I won't be able to change the sayings or the colours...but of course I will customize with your family names...the sign in sheet at your session will have a spot for that info. I have tried to include some of every colour to match everyone's possible outfit choices!!

take a look, most will be available to view in studio as well during your session, but everyone...including me is always wanting a sneak peek!!

AND...if you didn't get an appointment to see me...I can still make you a card for a minimum $10 fee, just email me for details...cheers...happy halloween...AND ho ho ho!!

4Cats Halloween

so, trying to get out and "do" a bunch of activities in my new area, since I think I've mentioned, our awesome little rental cottage while we build is just that...little!  So last night we checked out the 4Cats Art Studio in Lantzville.  They had a free community Halloween event for young artists, free activities, free snacks....it was a GREAT night, wonderful helpful staff and fun for everyone. Lots of kids in costumes, but I didn't have permission to take everyone's pics, so I only snapped my kids...and a few of their awesome colourful walls!! Go check them out if you get the chance.

redo....

Well, another day...better weather.  Remember my little soaking wet duckie from last weekend? We had a redo today at Piper's Lagoon...beautiful spot!! HAVE to take my family down there if we get a weekend without rain, think next weekend its supposed to pour on my session too!

Anyhow, little miss J, braved the rain last time, and the cold wind today, she was a trooper and such a sweetie....hat is mine and available to use for your session. (my new Island clients might not know about my prop addiction....my Lower Mainland clients know I am kind of renowned for having a LOT of "stuff")  ;)

Hope to see them again with the 2 older brothers when their clothes aren't soaked through!!
